The Annual Ice Camp BARNEO opened in April 2006.
The main engineer is giving instructions to the members of a landing party before the takeoff to Barneo. The camp Barneo is equipped with new comfortable tents. Thick doors of the tents provide good protection from draughts and retain warmth. An experimental model of the tent was successfully tested in practice at BARNEO-2005. The construction of the tent is fail-safe: even in case of ice crevasses, the tent does not sink, which will give extra time for evacuation.
The common room has also become warmer, more spacious and comfortable. Tables with numerous electric outlets for battery charge have been set there.
