Engineering department of EC Polus
There was completely made a new system of camp power supply during the completed expeditions. An oil-electrical engine “Subaru” (Japan) serves as a basis. Fuel automatic power supply system (for 7 days’ period) and exhaust system have been anew projected. Generator camp’s campus has completed double reservation, plus there are breakdown generators.
Fluid fuel stoves are used for the chief cabins’ and living modules’ heating. Standard heating guns “100” are accounted for base, but during several years of expeditions almost all the nodes and aggregates (sets) were elaborated or made afresh. Suffice it to say that improvements of engineering department let us to lessen fuel consumption in two times, and to lower gun’s mass from 70 to 40 kg.
The main engineer of EC Polus, the head of engineering department Vladimir Bulatnikov constructed and put in order the model shop of uniform chief cabins (72 square meters) and living moduls (30 square meters.)
The structures passed the tests in 2005 year on North Pole and showed excellent results. Tents became warmer then their predecessors. One man can bring them together by his own, and in the case of block’s of ice break a tent can be very easily carrier to new place. At patch of ice-free water tent retains its floatation. The name "Barneo-12” is given to living tent.

*) KAPSh 2 - wireframe arctic tent of Shaposhnikov (WATSh 2).
Because of necessity of ice conditions’ control and in order to detect breaks threatened drifting station, engineering department EC “Polus” made reconnaissance photography complex. The complex includes remotely controlled pilot aircraft with photo and video cameras on the board and with ground control monitoring apparatus. The system has successfully passed the tests in the severe conditions of Arctic region and is used on Barneo.
